Focus and Scope

Journal of Building Engineering Education (JPTB) promotes research in the broad field of Education Research and Technology, including Building Engineering Education, Vocational Education, and related disciplines, with particular attention to Indonesia, but not limited to authorship or topical coverage within the region.

Contributions are expected from senior researchers, project managers, research administrators, and PhD students at advanced stages of their research, representing both public organizations and private industry. The journal is also intended for scholars, students, researchers working at research organizations and government agencies, and enterprises undertaking applied research and development to lead innovations.

The editorial contents and elements that comprise the journal include:

  • Theoretical articles
  • Empirical studies
  • Practice-oriented papers
  • Case studies
  • Review of papers, books, and resources

As far as the criteria for evaluating and accepting submissions are concerned, a rigorous review process will be used. Submitted papers will, prior to formal review, be screened to ensure their suitability and adequacy to the journal.

Peer Review Process

The journal operates a peer review process and promotes a blind reviewing process, with at least two reviewers per article.

The acceptance or rejection of articles will be decided by the editorial board based on the review results supplied by the reviewers.

There are no communications between authors and editors concerning the rejection decision.

Authors whose papers are rejected will be informed of the reasons for rejection.

Publication Frequency

This journal is published two times a year, in April and November. Every issue consists of about seven articles; therefore, every volume has about fourteen articles or reviews.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

The published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License .

Plagiarism Screening

Before entering the review process, all manuscripts will be checked to ensure that they are free from plagiarism practices, with less than 20% similarity. If there is an indication of plagiarism, with similarity higher than 20%, the manuscript will be rejected immediately.

Publication Ethics Statement

Based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME)'s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Journal Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan (JPTB) is a peer-reviewed journal. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, chief editor, editorial board, peer reviewer, and publisher, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.

This statement is based on the previous COPE’s Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and the current COPE's Core Practices .

Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed JPTB journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It reflects the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them.

Reporting Standards

Authors of original research reports should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper.

Data Access and Retention

Authors may be asked to provide raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data, if practicable.

Originality and Plagiarism

The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works. If the authors have used the work or words of others, these must be appropriately cited or quoted.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

An author should not generally publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

Duties of Reviewers

Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist the author in improving the paper. Peer review is an essential component of formal scholarly communication.

Fees

This journal charges the following author fee:

  • Article Publication Fee: IDR 500,000.
    If this paper is accepted for publication, authors will be required to pay the fee to cover publication costs. Payment is only made after the manuscript has reached the Final Review stage and the author receives confirmation from the editor.

The payment should be transferred to the bank account provided in the official editor notification. Please include your full name, manuscript title, and active contact number, either WhatsApp or phone number, when confirming payment.
